Charity Fund vs Charity Status

So it is happening now bubba.  The hand and foot impressions will be gifted to other parents who will have an angel too.  That was a lovely idea that you whispered in Mummy's ear, but also a really sad thing too.  We will know that for every book frame and imprints given, that will be another family broken, another Mummy and Daddy upset, forever.  But I hope that your gift brings them some comfort, and I hope they will realise that you are in heaven waiting to meet their baby, like the kind and gentle boy that you are xxx Their baby will already have a friend waiting for them in heaven, because this is all your idea, this is all because of you.

Sara came over yesterday to show Mummy the ideas, she has worked so so hard on them Haydon.  The final ideas were lovely, but one in particular made Mummy have a big lump in her throat, one in particular is just truly beautiful and will be precious and can be kept safe or put on display, they imprints can be taken out and touched.  Just like we do with yours, so so precious and so needed.
It is the most expensive option, but that doesn't matter because they will be kept forever and loved forever, you can't put a price on that.  We just need to make sure we keep fund raising so that more families can get them, because they are missing from the memory boxes, and they are so needed, as much as photographs, as much as blankets and teddies, as much as foot and hand prints.  You will be giving this gift to them.

Mummy told Sara that she would cry about them when she left because they are so so lovely, and Sara touched Mummy's arms and looked in her eyes.  She knows how much this means Haydon.  She knows.
Mummy did cry.  The whispers you gave, are beautiful.

I am sure you have more guardian angels here that you whisper to aswell, because so many people want to raise money in your name, in your memory, to provide these precious keepsakes.  They want to help.
You whisper to Aunty Fiona.  She is going to help Mummy to do the money part of your charity fund.  She is brilliant with numbers.  Mummy calls her a 'guru'.  But she will go with Mummy to the bank and set up our very own bank account so we can take control over where the monies raised will go.  So many need this Haydon, and we can reach more families doing this ourselves.
You whisper to Aunty Leeann.  She is going to help Mummy to set up your very own web page, for your very own Charity.  She is our webpage 'guru'.  Mummy and Daddy have found the perfect symbol for your charity, and we will pay for this, to make sure that we secure it.  We can't use your superman sign because that would cost too much money to keep doing.  That's a pity.  But we have found something just as nice.

Mummy has spent a lot of time today talking to people on the phone and writing them emails.  We need to get your very own charity number that isn't linked up to anyone else, unless we choose to.  We will keep giving to SiMBA though, because they listened to your whispers.  Yorkhill don't seem to have heard you loud enough, we don't know if all of your money raised went to parents to get hand and foot impressions, so we will fix that.  We need to know that other Mummies and Daddies get these gifts from you.
We now need to become completely independent to make sure that this happens.
It is so confusing and so complicated getting this set up.  But the effort is so worth it.

If Daddy hadn't been ill and you hadn't whispered in my ear that day, to make them for him because he was missing you, then we wouldn't have them either.  I don't know how I would feel if I didn't have these now.

So keep helping Mummy to be strong and keep contacting all of these people to get this moving.

I am struggling with life since you left, maybe this is what I need to do.  Maybe this is what I need to live for.  To help other Mummies and Daddies at a time when words just aren't enough.

Mummy and Daddy have written a letter to go in the gift boxes.  Do you think it is ok?

This is what we wrote together.

Letter to Parents.

To receive this gift from Haydon, means only one thing. You have an angel now too.
We are so sorry that your baby couldn't stay with you.

We lost our son on 6th April 2012, aged 15 weeks and 2 days. He was our world. We understand how heartbroken you will be.

During our time with our son we were fortunate to have been able to gather memorial keepsakes, in particular Haydon's hand and foot impressions.
Haydon's Daddy had been ill and couldn't visit him in the hospital. We made them as a gift for him. They are now one of our most precious items.

Because of their value to us. We hope to offer a similar comfort to others who find themselves in this same devastating situation. A time when words aren't enough.

Your precious child's hand and foot impressions, that you can keep forever, that you can look at, touch, and treasure.

May this journey be as gentle as possible for you.

Loving thoughts,

James and Helen Kennan.

Mummy will keep going Haydon.  We need this to take off and run.  We need this to be available to others who will feel like Mummy and Daddy do.

We need to give them all a gift from our boy, our bubba, a gift from Haydon.  A gift from you. <3

Mummy loves you so so much, she just does xxxxxx You listened to Mummy asking you to help her, and you are.  In the only way that you can.  My precious boy. xxxxxxxx

catch my kisses, because they are all for you xxxxxxxxxx

  2. That is wonderful! When Jack died the hospital we were at did the hand and foot impressions in plaster and on a plate in ink after he died. We received the plasters framed and the ink prints had been fired with a beautiful decoration and his name, birth and death date on the plate with a stand. I can't tell you how valuable these were to us then and still are. That's such a wonderful thing to do for parents! God bless!
